Mpact Dance Academy’s Company competition team, Mpact Dance Project trains extensively in weekly required classes in disciplines including ballet, jazz, turns and leaps technique, tumbling and more. Weekends are reserved for choreography rehearsals. Company is an opportunity for ages 8-18 to build lifelong friendships, gain excellent exposure to industry directors and choreographers, opportunities to travel as well as the ability to really learn time management. Dancers in the company progress at an accelerated rate as they are performing on stage and at events between 6 and 8 times a year.  Company dancers begin their year in fun summer intensives, spend the fall learning from the finest choreographers in the country and the winter and spring on stage and at conventions and competitions. Alumni of The Pointe have gone on to receive generous College Scholarships, appear in television commercials, and perform in professional companies.

What: Mpact's annual company auditions are for dancers wanting to take their dance education to the next level. 

 

When: Friday, May 17th

Ages 5-7 from 4:00pm-4:45pm (Petite Pack *See Details Below)

Ages 8-11 from 4:00pm-5:30pm

Ages 12 & Up from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Petite Pack - Ages 5-7

This fun and competitive group offers our kids ages 5-7 the opportunity to experience competitive dance on a smaller scale than our older company members, as well as serves as a stepping-stone into company when they are fully prepared. Petite Pack learns one dance for the season, and they compete that dance two times at two dance conventions. At the dance conventions, the kids will take classes from instructors and choreographers from all over the country as well as compete their dance. The dates for the conventions will be sent out in September for planning purposes. The Petites will have ONE costume they will use for each performance and that costume will range anywhere from $80-$120. The cost for the conventions is approximately $260-$340 depending on your child’s age. Workshop classes at the conventions are based on age and some of them are about $50.00 more if your child is 8 years old.

 

The Petites will practice at least one time a month and no more than twice a month (usually on Friday evenings). The cost for Petite’s is $100.00 per month in addition to your child’s weekly dance class tuition. The only requirement to be in Petite Pack is your child must be registered for at least TWO dance classes during the week and one of those classes must be ballet. The second class can be any genre.
